But before House Stark became servants of kings, they were kings in their own right. The Starks’ commitment to loyalty to their allies and to their family members may just be the secret behind their 8,000-year rule over the North, beginning from the days of the First Men.

Later, while in a coma, an assassin tries to kill Bran, but his direwolf, Summer, saves him. After the encounter, Catelyn Stark travels to King’s Landing leaving her son Robb Stark in charge.
There’s only one named cadet branch of House Stark in ASOIAF and it’s House Karstark, a family founded by Karlon Stark after he was rewarded with his own land for crushing a rebellion. In the aftermath of the Red Wedding, the remaining Starks, including Jon Snow, remain scattered to the winds, though most of them end up heading in the same direction. Long before the events of Game of Thrones, the Stark family, which is one of the oldest bloodlines in all of Westeros, ruled over the North, just as they still do when Game of Thrones begins. As one of the most ancient Houses in the Seven Kingdoms, the Starks are descended from the First Men themselves — particularly Bran the Builder, a legendary First Man who served as the founder of House Stark and the first ever king in the North.
Amidst rumors that Jon Arryn might've been murdered, Ned finds himself an unwilling part of the drama and intrigue of King's Landing, coming head to head with Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), Robert's cold and conniving queen. After a hunch and some research, Ned discovers that Joffrey isn't Robert's true heir at all but the product of incest between Cersei and her twin brother, Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). However, this information turns out to be much more explosive than Ned ever imagined. This is used in the TV series, but it also frequently uses a subtle variant which has the grey direwolf on a white field, surmounting a small green escutcheon at the bottom.
This act violated one of the longest standing traditions in the Seven Kingdoms - to guard the safety of guests who have been given food and shelter - and outraged bannermen loyal to House Stark. The Starks remained isolated in the North, though, having little or no sea power after their ships were burned by Brandon the Burner. Eddard Stark’s friendship with Robert Baratheon, formed when both served as wards to Jon Arryn, would, however, bring the house into the heart of Westeros. In his absence, Jon gave Sansa regency over the Kingdom of the North as both his sister and the only Stark (the highest ranking and ruling family in the North) in Winterfell used as precedent. The status of the surviving Starks and what political positions they held was not fully clear after Jon Snow was hailed as the new King in the North, by not only the lords of the North, but the Vale as well. The return of Bran and Arya to Winterfell clarified the ambiguity of all of their political positions in the North.
For starters, the direwolf mother who gave birth to the cubs featured in the series is found with a deer antler sticking out of the mother's side, representing the fact that Ned's downfall was brought on by him accepting the position of Hand of the King. Like direwolves, the Starks are loyal and protective, and, like the direwolves, almost go extinct. Sansa names her direwolf Lady, representing her dreams of being Queen Consort to Joffrey, whom she describes as handsome.
House of the Dragon: Season 1
Robb marches to fight against the Lannisters and becomes King when Ned gets killed. As for the Stark girls, Arya escapes from King’s Landing, and Sansa becomes a hostage of the Iron Throne. When a House Stark member dies, they get buried in the crypts below Winterfell. Though the Starks get buried there, only past Kings or lords get a statue of themselves and a wolf, except Lyanna Stark and Brandon Stark. On the lap of the Kings and lords’ sculptures are swords; this gets used to ensure the spirits of the dead are at rest. In the teaser trailer for House of the Dragon, we see King Viserys I Targaryen ask his vassal lords to swear fealty to his daughter, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen.

In the novels, four of Lord Eddard Stark's six children inherit the Tully look from their mother Catelyn, possessing the auburn hair and blue eyes distinctive of House Tully. However, Arya inherits the Stark look of dark hair, grey eyes, and a long face alongside her half-brother Jon who, as Eddard's illegitimate son with an unidentified woman, does not possess Tully blood. While this has resulted in Arya being mockingly called "Horseface", Ned assures her that she bears a striking resemblance to his beautiful deceased sister Lyanna when Lyanna was a girl. Jon's own inheritance of the traditional Stark look and resemblance to Ned is a plot point illustrating he is of Stark blood and used by characters in-universe to identify Jon as a son of Eddard Stark.
Aegon’s Conquest
The soldiers are often equipped with helmets and round shields of steel or iron, both grey in color and the shields emblazoned with the Stark direwolf. Warriors in the Northern heavy cavalry or heavy infantry wear relatively cheap brigandine armor, with many choosing to wear mail underneath as well, rather than the expensive plate armor of the well-equipped Lannister troops. Their rule in the North seemingly ended after the events of the Red Wedding when House Frey and House Bolton betrayed House Stark after forming a secret alliance with House Lannister, during which Roose Bolton murdered King Robb Stark. However, the Boltons' hold was jeopardized when Sansa Stark escaped their clutches after learning her brothers Bran and Rickon Stark were still alive and reunited with her half-brother, Jon Snow, at Castle Black.

However, Lady is eventually killed for another wolf's crimes (see below), representing how Sansa's youthfulness died after Joffrey tortured her for most of Season 2 in King's Landing, until he married Margaery Tyrell. Arya names her direwolf Nymeria, after a warrior princess from the Age of A Hundred Kingdoms, a fitting depiction of Arya's warrior spirit. When Nymeria attacks Joffrey, Arya sends her away to avoid her being "executed", and Lady is thus punished for the crime (see above). This is foreshadowing of the way Arya flees King's Landing at the end of Season 1 to the Wall. The losing of the wolf also symbolises that Arya is uncertain of what her future holds.
Sadly, Sansa ends up with the worst fate of any of her surviving family members. After escaping the Lannisters in the wake of Joffrey's murder, Sansa is at the mercy of Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish (Aidan Gillen), and he marries her off to Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon), the recently legitimized and entirely sadistic heir to the Bolton family. As a result, Robert becomes King Robert Baratheon and rules the Seven Kingdoms, but Ned, who personally apprehends Rhaegar at the Tower of Joy, is entrusted with a secret that he ends up keeping for the rest of his life. The two were secretly married and had a son, Rhaegal, whose name and heritage put him in immediate danger. When designing the Tony Stark house, the creative minds behind the mansion wanted it to have all the poshness you’d expect from a billionaire’s mansion in Point Dume. As far as the interior design, however, none of its style was meant to reflect Tony’s actual taste.
House Stark During and After Aegon’s Conquest
When all is said and done, there's no question that the Stark family, which has seen so much strife and bloodshed, ends Game of Thrones at the top of the pack. After Arya single-handedly takes down the Night King using her deadly skills, the Starks, including Jon, help Daenerys battle the Lannister forces at King's Landing. However, when it becomes obvious to all of them that Daenerys is a ruthless tyrant, Jon kills his aunt and lover, leaving the fate of Westeros in question. As the story of Game of Thrones begins to draw to a close and its power players draw closer together, one of the show's biggest mysteries is revealed — specifically, the identity of Jon Snow's mother. As it turns out, Jon isn't Ned Stark's bastard at all, but instead, he's the legitimate product of the marriage between Lyanna Stark and Rhaegal Targaryen.

Recently, members of House Stark, Arya Stark, Jon Snow, and Bran Stark have an ability called warging. They can enter their direwolves and see through their eyes while sleeping. However, Bran is the strongest of all as he can warg into the mind of a human. On one hand, Robb Stark’s military victories in the south increase its position, momentarily throwing it into the centre stage as his allied lords declare for him alone, swearing oaths to the King in the North.
Bran and Rickon leave Winterfell after a traitorous Theon Greyjoy takes control of Winterfell. Theon kills two farmer's sons and declares their bodies are those of Bran and Rickon, leading the majority of Westeros believing that all the male Stark heirs are dead (as Jon is a bastard son of Ned Stark and sworn to the Night's Watch). Centuries later, Lady Lyanna Stark was taken by Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, and when her father and brother demanded justice, King Aerys II Targaryen had them both viciously executed.
You may have also heard other words like “When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.” While not officially a motto, it is a reminder of the Stark family’s culture of loyalty. House Stark is a noble family based in the North of Westeros, a snowy, hostile region past the Neck of the continent. Their seat and ancestral home is Winterfell, a massive fortress known for its thick boundary walls and heated castle walls. Not to mention, many of their members went on to become heroes, kings, seers, and Hands of the King, easily making them a common fixture in adaptations of the ASOIAF books.
Particularly, Aegon had already used his dragons to inflict a crushing defeat on both the Westerlands and the Reach at the Field of Fire. Torrhen Stark finally advanced south to the Riverlands with the amassed armies of the North to a confrontation with Aegon. However, upon seeing Aegon's vast numerical superiority and his dragons, Torrhen Stark realized he had no hope of victory, and chose to bend the knee in submission. They gained a new vassal from the Reach after House Manderly's exile, giving them a new home at White Harbor in exchange for their guarding the river against pirates. Karlon Stark, a younger son of the King in the North, was awarded lands in the eastern regions of the North after successfully putting down a rebellion led by House Bolton.
Before long, Bran and Rickon are forced to leave Winterfell and assumed dead when Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) turns on the Starks and overtakes the castle. From there, the two youngest Stark boys head north, aided by wildling Osha (Natalia Tena) and Hodor (Kristian Nairn), the longtime, mostly mute strongman servant to the Stark family. As the narrative of Game of Thrones begins, Jon Arryn — hand of the king to Robert Baratheon — suddenly and unexpectedly dies, leaving Robert without assistance. Unsurprisingly, he calls Ned Stark, one of his oldest friends and allies, to King's Landing to become his new hand.

Much like many of the brand's other palettes, Bejeweled Eyes to Hypnotise comes packed with 12 shades in varying finishes, all encased in a sturdy gold package. The palette's soft shimmers and wet-looking metallics, the brand reveals to Allure, are totally new formulations. The brand also says that these specific shades are inspired by Tilbury's love of precious stones and gems, which you can tell by the selection's amethyst purple, garnet red, topaz gold, and rose quartz hues. The shades are divided into trios to help you organize different looks, but you definitely don't have to stick to those pairings to make an amazing eye look. Encased in a dazzling silver starburst case, this magical palette features the same LIGHT-AS-AIR matte and MAGICAL metallic formulas found in my globally-loved palettes, as well as TWO BRAND-NEW!

Don’t get me wrong her quads are lovely but I look forward to the Holidays when she lets loose a bigger palette that includes a variety of shades. The vibrant color of each vial was inspired by Tilbury’s love for crystals and gemstones, matching the shades to some of her favorite precious stones. You’ll also notice small Roman numerals underneath each perfume name, which Tilbury believes match the “energy” of each scent. To me, these numbers (while tiny on the bottles themselves), are a bit arbitrary to the fragrances, but I suppose they do add a certain je ne sais quoi to the collection's overall vibe. For this makeup look I used only the shades from Happy Glow and Love Glow. I love how the look turned out, quite flattering for my light skin.

The texture was smooth, soft and bit thinner but easily blendable. It applied well but look more intensified when applied with my fingertips or a damp flat brush. I had around eight hours wear with minor fall out before it started to fade away. The matte eyeshadows applied well, evenly and without looking patchy but felt just a bit dry. Now the shimmer and metallic finish shades which were leaning from satin to pearl were smooth but felt thin to the touch.
It was available exclusively only for 48 Hours and I’m happy I had the chance to buy it. Part of the same collection is also the new Hollywood Superstar Glow Highlighter (live swatches) which I already bought and I’ll be reviewing it afterwards. I only have her smaller Darling eye palette but there’s something about the CT Instant Look palettes that is like a siren’s song to me. I suspect it is the pleasing symmetry and clean efficiency of the palette’s design. Even though none of them are precisely the shades I’d like, I want one badly.
